Smile Brilliant Review + a Giveaway!

Teeth Whitening Kits

The following is a sponsored post. I was provided a whitening kit and desensitizing gel by Smile Brilliant for review. All opinions are my own.

I've never been one to fuss all that much about my appearance--I'm a little bit lazy that way, if you want to know the truth. Beauty routines have come and gone since my junior high days, but one thing that has been pretty constant is my dedication to maintaining white teeth. I can take or leave eyeshadow and blush, but you better leave my whitening products alone.

Since starting my current job a little over a year ago, I've become a twice-a-day coffee drinker, with some tea also thrown in most days. It's good for my sanity, but not so good on my smile. When Smile Brilliant contacted me with the opportunity to review their whitening kit, it seemed like perfect time to set aside the whitening strips and try something a little more personalized.
The kit and desensitizing gel (sold separately) arrived as pictured above. I was a little nervous about making the molds (what if I messed it up?!), but the process was actually really simple. The kit comes with base paste and catalyst paste, which you mix and place in the trays before making your impressions. The directions were clear and easy to follow.

After mixing, you just make a mold of your teeth; the hardest part is keeping the trays in for the full two and a half minutes while your husband is making ridiculous faces at you.
After the impressions are made, they sit for 30 minutes and then you ship them to Smile Brilliant so they can make your custom trays. Mine had a super quick turnaround time, and the trays were infinitely better than I imagined. Like I mentioned previously, I've been doing this whitening thing for a long time, and the trays that I've used previously have been either thick and waxy, or stiff and a little painful to use. The Smile Brilliant trays are made from a flexible silicone material that are actually comfortable to wear, and they don't slip off or shift like whitening strips.

Just a thin line of whitening gel, and you're ready to whiten for anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, depending on your sensitivity. I used the desensitizing gel after whitening every time, and I could whiten for three hours with no problem, but I recommend starting slow just in case.

That's all there is to it! I've been using Smile Brilliant as a safe and healthy way to keep my teeth white, and I may never go back. I went to my 6-month dental check Thursday, and even my hygienist commented on how white my teeth are--and you know she has plenty to compare!
