I'm back!
Did you miss me? I never realized just how much I rely on computers until I suddenly didn't have one. I still had my phone, so I wasn't totally without, but typing on a phone? No bueno. The good news is, I picked up a Chromebook on Friday, so I'm back! It's definitely different than a full-fledged laptop, but I think it will do nicely until we can save up for a *real* computer...and hopefully we'll get a nicer one now that we won't be buying out of necessity. In the meantime, I'll be getting creative trying to find online alternatives to programs I regularly used. Wish me luck!

Ah! Do you like your Chromebook? I had thought about getting one (until I impulsively got a Macbook. Such a great and bad idea!)... I kind of STILL want one. Let me know how you like it!
ReplyDeleteSo far, I love it...but it's not a laptop replacement. More like a supplement. I just picked one up because I wanted to be able to (1) blog and (2) pay bills. (Lame, but true....I HATE typing on my phone.) For that, and general internet stuff, it's great. But you can't load any programs on it, so no iTunes, Photoshop, etc, which is a bummer. Editing pictures online is a bit of a pain in the arse. I'd say you made the right choice with a MacBook. I want one, but couldn't afford to buy one outright yet, and I didn't want to make payments. (Student loans have made me incredibly debt-averse.) We're eventually going to get a *real* computer too. I just thought if we had this in the meantime, we'd actually save up for a good one, since we wouldn't be buying out of necessity, if that makes sense. But really, you can't beat $250 for a decent computer. I'm a fan. :)
