Wedding Week(ish): The Ceremony

Here comes the important part, right? The ceremony. I have so much gratitude when I look back on it. Not only for everyone who stood with us (hey-o best-ever bridesmaids & groomsmen!), and the amazing people that helped make it happen, but for everyone that came to see it.  I always viewed it as an honor to be invited to weddings, but as a bride I was even more honored that people wanted to be part of such a huge day in our lives. I am still overwhelmed at the outpouring of love we received. Here are a few of my favorite parts.

I might be a little bit biased, but I think we had the cutest ringbearer and flowergirls ever to exist.

I will never forget the nervous excitement I felt before walking out of the dressing room toward the aisle. I seriously thought I was going to pass out cold. I have ridiculous stage fright. My dad had passed away suddenly about 6 months before, and I almost walked down the aisle alone. (I'm honestly a little bit of a feminist, and that idea sat really well with me; we actually eliminated the "who gives this woman" bit from the ceremony because I didn't think anyone was "giving" me--I was there of my own volition, darn it!) In that moment, though, I was extra glad I had asked my brother to walk with me.

All the nerves totally faded when I looked up and saw Tyler, though--with tears in his eyes. I didn't even look anywhere else the entire walk down the aisle. That is one of my favorite moments from the whole day, and I will never forget it as long as I live. I'm SO grateful that our photographer captured it.

That moment.  I swear, it sounds ridiculous and cheesy, but there is something spiritual that happens the moment you're declared husband and wife. I think my heart swelled about 15 sizes, and I gained a new capacity for love. I thought I loved Tyler as much as humanly possible before our wedding, but I loved him exponentially more afterward.

More and more every single day.

  1. That was the sweetest little video!
I just love wedding videos. Any and all. They always make me cry!

    1. Me too. We almost didn't have one because it really stretched our (already thin) budget, but I am SO glad. Worth every penny. I watch it all the time.
