this one time: i had a pet raccoon

This one time, I had a pet raccoon. His name was Mo, and he was awesome. I grew up on 40 (mainly wooded) acres in the country, and my dad found him in a tree when he was a tiny tiny baby and brought him home. He would climb up on my shoulder, or on the back of the couch, and play with my hair. He even let me push him around in a baby doll stroller. Best pet of all time? Very possible.

**Note: I'm not entirely sure that this was legal. In fact, I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

Have you ever had any unusual pets?

  1. That is most likely the best photo to ever exist, ever.

  2. First, that's adorable. Second, when I think of pet a raccoon I only think of the horror stories of rabid attacks and razor sharp claws ("does somebody need a hug?"), but he looks harmless. :) The only undomesticated pet I had was a rabbit at my Grandparents, and he was pretty awesome. My cousins had a fawn that they kept in the house, however. I have a cute picture of me bottle feeding it as a little one.

    1. Hahaha! That's hilarious! He was pretty harmless. He would sometimes "bite" when we were playing, but not hard--kinda like a puppy would. I actually have a picture somewhere of me pushing him in a pink plastic doll stroller. He was a very tolerant fella.

You need to find that picture so I can see! I bet it's adorable!

  3. Jealous. Jealous. OH, I am SO jealous!!

My brother had a pet squirrel once. That was pretty cool. Not as cool as a pet racoon, but still...

    1. He was a super neat pet to have as a kid! I actually would love to have a pet fox now. I think I've watched too many videos on youtube, because they melt my heart. *Sigh*

My dad had a pet squirrel when he was a boy! It used to ride around on his shoulder or head. Haha!
